anytime you use a proxy site to access myspace, you are handing over your login information to the owner of the proxy site, who, if they wanted to, could then take over your account to spam his proxy site to your friends, or worse, sell your account (if you have a ton of friends) to a professional spammer, which will eventually get your account deleted

why go thru all that? why not just wait til you get home to get on myspace?

at least you know now why all these people plugging their proxy sites are so anxious to get you to use them - they want as many accounts as possible so they can spam even more

How can I fix the Comment box on MySpace?

I reccently noticed that my MySpace profile is way too wide. I have to scroll from the left to right to see the entire profile.

I think the problem is my comment block. I had someone post a long comment and it has made my whole profile a lot wider. I have tried looking through all my codes in the Table Width, and the main one is set to 600 px.

Could someone help me with this? I'm scratching my head and can't seem to figure it out.

I dont think its your comment box i think its probably the comments your recieving that makes ALL your comment boxes bigger. If you have a video or picture or ad or anything of that sort in one of your comments on your profile it will make all the others huge also. so delete those :]

The reason I say this is because that/this was my problem also until I got a skinny layout :] think about getting one !

use a method not much known about, edit the hosts file.

閳?open notepad - it's in your start menu.

閳?browse to C:\ WINDOWS\ system32\ drivers\ etc

閳?find the file named 'hosts'

閳?select it, then click 'open'

閳?at the end of the file, add this line, the space in between is a tab:

127.0.0.1 www.myspace.com

閳?save the file with file %26gt; save

the advantages of this over other methods is that you don't need to download any extra software, there is no visible sign to show that sites are being blocked, as many sites can be added as you want, 95% of children OR adults know nothing about the hosts file so working out why they're getting a 'cannot find server' message is near impossible.

to quickly explain how it works:

when you type a web address into a web browser it checks the 'hosts' file first to see if there's an entry for that site along with the site's ip address rather than looking up the ip address manually.

by adding an entry like we did above, when www.myspace.com is used in the address bar, it checks the 'hosts' file and says 'ah there's an entry' then tries to visit 127.0.0.1 - but this is an invalid ip address because it's the local address for your own machine.

if there's a downside to this method, it's that entries into the address bar are taken literally, if we just use myspace.com without the 'www.' it will go to the site but there's nothing to stop myspace.com also being added.
